What a surprise! A film I wasn't expecting much from delivered a well-constructed story that didn’t stray away too much from the original storyline. I enjoyed the film even though I knew how it would end. The filmmakers managed to handle the book really well and I was far from bored. My gripes are the overly simplistic ending and the very unrealistic gas explosion which smacked of sheer stupidity. ()
A very well-made movie with an interesting plot. I liked the movie, but found the ending slightly disappointing. It looked to me like they sort of gave up - they didn’t tie up all the loose ends (and I was expecting a better climax). But overall the movie seems good, thanks mainly to the actresses in the two central roles. ()
