Love and Honor

"Love and Honor" is a movie that can evoke even unpleasant feelings in you. At times, it is so saccharine that it caused me actual physical nausea, and I had to avert my gaze not to witness how the actors distort themselves. The romance portrayed here is so strong that one might choke on it. But why? What does it all actually mean? That only true love endures? That only those who still have hope for love return to the jungle? That life will be somehow better after completing a tour? That Canada is a promised land? I don't know. This film doesn't say anything at all. It's just a bad red library that veterans should spit on. (19/11/2013)
