"Pandora's Box" combines several interesting motifs. It is a story of a femme fatale, but at the same time an existential contemplation of a woman's fate. It is a tragic romance, as well as a variation on the well-known theme of Jack the Ripper. Adventure is combined here with emotional, human cruelty and violence. The film has a plot that may not be necessary, memorable characters - or actually just one character - and finally, a tone that shows the creators were not afraid.
