anglais An absolutely superb wartime epic that captivates with stunning sets and George Scott as the controversial but capable General Patton, the mastermind behind the successful American campaign into the heart of Hitler's Berlin. For this role, Scott got an Oscar that he refused to accept. The film garnered six more golden statuettes, including motion picture and direction. It was shot in 70 mm panoramic format, in the cinema is 6*, on DVD 5*, and on the telly 4*. ()

anglais A sprawling war epic about a personality that definitely deserves attention. Unfortunately, I really found it long and actually not that interesting. If it weren't for George C. Scott - who not only refused to accept the nomination but also the Oscar for his excellent role - the film wouldn't really entertain me. Here, there are interesting scenes that aren't so much about the war itself but about the individual and their place in the world. Patton's perspective is interesting. ()
