This film, which won an award at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival, shows Paris in quick panning shots and a shaky hand-held camera. Shots of people sharing joints are intercut with long unfocused scenes, and the distorted movement of bodies scenes or multiple exposures imitate altered states of mind and the hallucinatory world of the era's counterculture.
