Lors d'un séjour à l'hôpital où il se fait enlever un rein, Miguelito, 18 ans, se découvre une vocation de poète en lisant La Divine Comédie de Dante. A sa sortie, il retrouve tous ses copains à la piscine municipale et tombe amoureux de la belle Luli. Au cours de cet été, cette petite troupe va découvrir l'amitié, l'amour, le sexe et emprunter le chemin semé d'embûches qui mène à l'âge adulte. (texte officiel du distributeur)

I was quite curious about Antonio Banderas as a director, but after watching his film I have to say I was very disappointed. I found it outrageously long-winded and full of unfulfilled attempts at poeticization and intense expression of feelings. None of the characters appealed to me in any significant way, nor was I able to empathise with any of them. A film that pretends to be something it is not - it is too shallow and does not go into depth at all, which is what I would expect from a film like this.
