A totally confused film at first sight, made up of documentary footage and fragments of another film (Abschied von Gestern). A very contrived spectacle about the art of editing and correlation. His significance lies in the appearance, for the first time, of the figure of the “fire extinguisher”, an ideal character for Kluge, who must extinguish the fires of politics and history.
