The Return of the Native

Eustacia Vye comes to visit her grandfather in the country, and the drabness and lack of excitement of the moors soon makes her regret her decision. She constantly daydreams of leaving, and finding a husband who will take her to Paris, away from the loneliness of the heath. She finds two prospects: Damon Wildeve, who has been pledged to another, and the native who "returns," Clym Yeobright. She eventually weds one, but soon learns that marriage does not answer every dream, and that fate plays a large part in one's destiny. (texte officiel du distributeur)
