Burt Lancaster is very much on the safe side in this film, which he made sure of by the fact that he directed the film himself. He’s simply a good guy who has obstacles fall in his way, but he will always get up, always a little stronger and always defend those he cares about. In the end, this is a pleasant film to watch. ()
