The sculptor Koltay Iván becomes the tenant of an abandoned lakeside villa. By the moonlight, he is witness to the night-time bathing of a beautiful young maiden. His lakeside vision inspires his sculpture entitled "Health", commissioned by the nearby sanatorium. The woman in the nude is completed, but the figure lacks a face. Searching for the source of his inspiration, he learns to know Balázs Anna, rowing on the lake. He is convinced that only she could have been the bathing beauty, and the face of the sculpture is made. Later it turns out that Anna is the daughter of the director of the sanatorium, and has been lame for years. The woman Koltay saw bathing was her female friend, Máté Gitta. Fate helps the sculptor meet the coquettish Gitta, too. He finds himself attached to Anna by platonic love, and to Gitta by erotic lust. To avoid having to make a decision, he goes abroad. Distance and time deepen his love for Anna, and he chooses her as he returns home again. With the help of love's healing effect, Anna learns to walk again. (texte officiel du distributeur)
