Szirák Sándor is loved by his wife, but they cannot have children. He is already tired of his marriage. He is attracted to the new woman operating the trolley, but she is courted by the young Feri. When she becomes pregnant, Feri wants her to have an abortion and leaves her. Szirák comforts her and they start up a relationship. His friends do not understand why the middle-aged Szirák wants to change his life. Szirák rudely attacks Feri for a trifling mistake in the factory and, beside himself with rage, reproaches the young man's entire lazy and negligent generation. Zsuzsa suffers an accident and Szirák realises that he is deceiving himself. He sends Feri to accompany Zsuzsa in the hospital, and returns to his wife. (texte officiel du distributeur)
