The best Polish work in the first half of the 90s was definitely Kieslowski's Dekalog, but this series came right after it. It is a very high-quality Polish series that most faithfully reflects the mysterious atmosphere and philosophical message of Bulgakov as a master of magical realism. Excellent acting performances, and a quality screenplay. The Poles easily surpassed the Russian adaptation of Bulgakov. Overall impression: 90%.
