The film chose a very interesting subject and once again proved that noir films simply relied on very good scripts. Unfortunately, the film somehow failed to translate the right atmosphere into an overall good result. There's a good plot, good but theatrical acting performances, and a weak dramatic storyline, which somewhat undermines the potential.
