Dans le Paris mondain de 1847, les rencontres galantes ont lieu au théâtre, au bal et dans les cercles de jeux où la discrétion est de mise... et le jeu c'est l'amour. anglais Greta Garbo is unreal and in the moment when she tries to distance herself from her loved one, she is incredibly frosty and cold. A guy never wants to experience a moment when a woman treats him in a similar way. Here it is truly captured in an unbelievably powerful and emotional way, which got to me. This is also due to the incredibly well-chosen actors. The story doesn't try to be too exaggerated, but you still have concerns about what is coming, at least if you don't know the story and haven't read it. ()

anglais Unlike many people, I don't consider this film to be the highlight of Greta's career, and of the sound films I choose Queen Christina and Anna Christie on principle. Of the silent films, the vast majority, especially The Kiss and The Street of Sorrow. Still, it is a joy to see the despair of Robert Taylor, who so typically saw it too late. ()
