Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds: The Videos

A compilation of Bad Seeds music videos. The songs strike home with the classically raw poetry of the texts written by the band’s frontman, Nick Cave. Wonderful rhythms and hugely powerful emotional messages. For the songs alone, a full five *. But we also have the visual side, and you can see in most of the videos that the Bad Seeds don’t like being filmed. Uninspiring in terms of directing and no miracles happen in terms of visuals. In fact I would say that most of them (apart from the occasional honorable exception) were just churned out from a sense of obligation. They do nothing to enrich the music and give it no new dimension - they are simply superfluous. (22/01/2007)
