Thrane's Methode

The day after Thrane moves into his new apartment, he sees Mol for the first time, down by the mailboxes. Suddenly, he knows he is going to be living there for a long time. Thrane's Method deals with the rootless eccentric Thrane's sly attempts to contact his married neighbour Mol, or Molly, her real name. In the middle of his methodical planning, new and unexpected situations and relationships arise, and Thrane looses some of the control he believes he needs. Other characters, surprising in their dreams and experiences, enter into the apparent predictability of daily life. Perhaps this can be called a modern love story where fear of, and desire for, success are equally important. (Norsk Filminstitutt)
