The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” Without realising it, Jean-Claude Rousseau carries out the existential instructions, which Kafka delivered as aphorism no. 109 sometime between September 1917 and April 1918, when he was staying on a farm with his sister Ottla and her husband in Siřem (Zürau) in North-West Bohemia.
