In between Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl one day before the war, María, forced to marry a bandit, escapes to the woods with El Toro, fleeing her destiny. In love with a murdered general, Rosario mourns at his tomb on the outskirts of a volcano. They all wander and make mistakes. They walk, fall, ask questions, move away until they are lost in the night—a fable about lovers of the present and the past in the country of the frozen revolution.
