God and the Devil’s Cumbia

Between shootings and decapitated bodies, several Matachines dancers, known as “Soldados de la Virgen”, demonstrate their worship to God through their dance and ask for His promise of eternal abundance. Celso is one of them. He dances cumbia and plays the accordion as the world around him burns. One day, together with his son Mateo, he is kidnapped for the purpose of playing a tune for the Devil. Desperate for happiness, Celso sells his soul to him. (Los Cabos International Film Festival)
