Biographie

Marta Sousa Ribeiro directed, in 2011, her first short film Yellowblueblackyellow, followed by Four Floors (2013), and Why Not Circles Instead of Squares (2013), an animated short film co-directed with Joana Peralta. In 2014 she founded with Joana Peralta and Pedro Cabeleira the video and film production company Videolotion, and in 2017 they released their first feature film, Damned Summer, directed by Pedro Cabeleira, which received a special mention in Cineasti di Presente at Locarno Festival. In 2018 they produced the webseries Subsolo, for which she directed the episode Júlia. In 2019, with Joana Peralta, she directed an episode of the kids TV show Cubs, also produced by Videolotion. Simon Chama is her first feature film.
