Didier Van Cauwelaert was born in Nice, France, and is the author of several international bestsellers. His works have garnered him numerous awards, including the Prix Del Duca in 1982, for his book Vingt Ans et des poussières; the Roger Nimier Prize in 1984 for Poisson d'amour; the Gutenberg Prize in 1987 for Les Vacances du fantôme; and the 1994 Goncourt Prix for Un aller simple (One Way Ticket). His additional works include La Vie interdite, La Demi… (plus)
