Biographie

Ángeles Huerta holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Oviedo and a diploma in Practical Filmmaking from the Met Film School in London. During her stay in England, she directed short fiction films such as The Fetch, which was selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2017 she released her first feature, Esquece Monelos, a non-fiction film that tells the story of an underground river that has become a sewer under the streets of A Coruña, which was nominated for the Feroz Awards in the category of Best Documentary. The film also won three Mestre Mateo awards, as well as a special mention from the DocumentaMadrid 17 jury, among other awards.
