Biographie

A director and screenwriter who graduated from the Arts and Communication School of the Catholic University. He has received many scholarships and awards throughout his career. In 1984, he received the DAAD scholarship; in 1993 and 1999, the Fundación Andes scholarship to write a script; he also received awards from the Ford Foundation and the Audiovisual Promotion Fund for the finishing of films; and in 2008 he won the Tinker scholarship to give a course on Film and Literature at Stanford University. He published Aventura del cuerpo, a study on the film thoughts of director Raúl Ruiz. He directed more than 15 films, including El zapato chino, Los deseos concebidos and Bad Times.
