Biographie

Sophie O'Connor commenced her career in the arts in 1998, upon graduating from the Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Theatre Production. For the next eight years Sophie worked the theatre and festival circuit, travelling both nationally and internationally. She then decided to pursue her own artistic endeavors, in the wake of a surge of creativity; writing, producing, directing, experimenting with short and feature length films, singing and creating music. Sophie’s short film Run with the Ball and Die with your Boots on won an award at the 2008 Melbourne International Film Festival. She has also directed, produced and edited a feature length documentary. Submerge is Sophie’s first feature narrative film.
