Biographie
Teona Strugar Mitevska est née en 1974 dans une famille d’artistes à Skopje, en Macédoine. Après avoir été actrice alors qu’elle était enfant puis avoir travaillé comme peintre et graphiste, elle étudie le cinéma à la Tisch School of Arts de l’université de New York. Elle débute en tant que réalisatrice en 2001 avec le court métrage Veta, qui remporte le prix spécial du jury au festival de Berlin. En 2004, elle crée avec son frère Vuk et sa sœur Labina la société Sisters and Brother Mitevski Production, qui produit ses longs-métrages et a notamment coproduit Le Poirier sauvage de Nuri Bilge Ceylan et Sieranevada de Christi Puiu.
