While at the Japan Institute of the Moving Image, Kaze Shindo made her TV-directing debut. After working as an assistant director for Yuji Nakae and Kaneto Shindo (her grandfather), she made her feature debut with LOVE/JUICE (2000), which won the New Director Award at Berlin, among many other prizes. She directed Princess in an Iron Helmet (2006), then served as director's assistant on Kaneto Shindo's 23rd TIFF Special Jury Prize-winning Postcard (2010).
