Biographie

Mamadou was born in Guinea, West Africa. His family moved to the states when he was one-year-old. He spent the first twenty years living a double life. Behaving one way at home for African parents while proving he is black enough for his peers. He perfected that balancing act all while assimilating into American culture. This ability to code switch for multiple audiences and his gift of storytelling helps him make films that are relatable to people of multiple racial, financial, and social backgrounds. While blessed with many of the great opportunities this country has to offer, he has also experienced some of the ugliness its citizens endure. This is why he can explain his stories of corporate America to the urban demographic just as easily as he can tell the stories of his inner-city youth to Middle America. He has the ability to tell these stories in a way relatable to all.
