Biographie

Amélie Mbaye is an Actress, Singer and MC, born in Dakar, Senegal. She holds both, US and Senegalese citizenship. She studied in France, majoring in foreign languages and tourism, at the International School “TUNON “ in Normandie. Her career includes several years in the airlines industry as a Flight Attendant, as a TV Host & Announcer and as an Actress. In LA, she hosted an African television program: Talking drums the African Voice, in both English and French. Her acting career began in 2002 and some of her work includes: Monia et Rama (2002), a soap opera shot in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; Tears of the Sun (2004), produced by Revolution Studio starring Bruce Willis; First Date (2015) a Facebook commercial with more than 50 million views and more than 5500 shares; Frontiers/Borders a road movie set in six different countries of West Africa that won three prizes at the FESPACO film festival 2017 in Ouagadougou and the Audience Award at the Amsterdam film festival in 2017. In 2015, she received two certificates of recognition from the State of California and from the Senate, in commemoration of her role in promoting African history and heritage. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Woloff.
