Pablo Malo

Biographie

He wrote and directed at a young age the short films Tres minutos and Nora, before shooting in 1995 El ángel de mármol. After signing the animated scripts Tártaro el cíclope and Olentzero, la leyenda del Pirineo (nominated for a Goya Award in 2002), he wrote and directed the short fiction film Jardines deshabitados, premiered at the Gijón Festival. In 2004 he made his long-feature debut with the movie Cold Winter Sun, winner of the Goya Award for Best New Director. In 2006 he shot Nobody’s Shadow, his second feature film, before directing several chapters of the television series Hispania, la leyenda in 2011. In 2014 he directed Lasa y Zabala, his third feature, which premiered out of competition in the Official Section of the San Sebastian Festival, and in 2017 he directed the short film Late for Break Time.
