Carles Torras began his career as co-director of the hyperlink movie Joves (2005), awarded at more than 30 international festivals. This was followed by Trash (2009), a competitor at the Málaga Festival, garnering 13 nominations and a Gaudi Award from the Catalonian Film Academy. With OPEN24H (2011) he once again competed in Málaga, and in Sitges, receiving seven Catalonian Film Academy nominations. Callback won the Best Shell Golden Biznaga at the last Málaga Festival (2016), in addition to the Silver Biznaga for Best Screenplay and Best Actor, and Jury Prize at the Brussels International Film Festival.
