Ivan Strasburg was born in Durban, South Africa. He left South Africa to attend the London Film School and began his career working on documentaries across the globe. He has filmed in over 60 countries.
His award-winning feature and television career includes collaborations with notable directors Paul Greengrass (Bloody Sunday, The Theory of Flight, and Resurrected ) and Mick Jackson (Temple Grandin and Live From Baghdad ). Other credits include the documentary It Might Get Loud for Davis Guggenheim, the miniseries Generation Kill and Lackawanna Blues for HBO. Ivan won the BAFTA Award® for Best Cinematographer for Bloody Sunday and was Emmy®-nominated for his work on Live From Baghdad. His work includes also the critically acclaimed HBO series "Treme."
